many of us either worked with, served with, are friends with, or related to, people that served in our armed forces.
on this day i always think of our friends and relatives that served their country over the years.all gave some, some gave all.
may they all be remembered this day. i salute each and every one of you.

I too am grateful for the military who have bravely served and gave their lives for their country. I had a cousin in the military whose jeep ran over a land mine returning from the Vietnam War. I will never forget the experience of the deep sorrow. I stood in the doorway with my Aunt at her side as the American Flag was presented to her. I was still young and didn't understand the depth of her pain. Experiencing motherhood and aging refreshed that memory. I had an opportunity in 2005 to see the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington DC and read his name. I pray for the families that they find comfort in their loved one's memories and support they may still deeply need from us. I was truly moved to have read a few of his letters to my Aunt and the terrible conditions he daily endured for this country. May we not forget the sacrifice given on our behalf.
