I enjoy listening to the Phillies work hard to improve other ball club's records. Sometimes I like listening to the games better than watching them because I find it easier to evaluate the situation and think about strategies.

Wayne especially since you root for a team outside of the broadcast area get the MLB at bat app for your smart phone and you can listen to every tigers game of the season from your pocket. It only costs $20 for the entire season. You also get every other team as well.

I remember as a kid, I would have the transistor radio under my pillow to listen to the minor league games at night...

I stayed up last night, actually this morning, to watch the Cardinals and Dodgers 13 inning game. Some of the best pitching ever seen. To bad for the Birds that they gave up a walk and double to end it.

OK you guys talk about old radios, I had a crystal radiogrounded to the radiator in my room. I could get Wolf man Jack. That's before transistors and only at night when regular radio, AM had shut down. Jim

Back in the 60's, if you had a real good transistor radio, at night you could get KMOX and listen to Harry Cary and Jack Buck call the Cardinals games at night. Sometimes you could tell when Harry downed too many Budweisers. My grandparents took me and my brother to a game at Busch in 67 against the Giants and in 68 my parents took all of us there to see the Pirates. It was the game that put Gibson's ERA barely over 1.00. We got to see a lot of future Hall of Fame members in those 2 games.

Oneck, first thing I would have to do is buy a smart phone...not gonna happen! I am not smart enough for a phone like that. AM radio does a thing called (as I know it) skip. It bounces off the atmosphere, and at random times you can get signals from far, far away! It seems to work in my garage on a fairly regular (but random) basis!! Some nights I can get stuff on am radio from far east, Europe, etc!!! Peace, Wayne PS...Go Tigers!!!!
