Interesting to read Ians update the other day saying they have had problems with double vining on these seeds. Mine are the same and have heard at least one other account of it. Anyone else have problem?
What's the verdict with this, is it worth me bothering sticking with it or shall I just cut my losses? See a discussion further down the page that suggests all is not lost with a double.

If you don't have a good seedling to use as a backup I'd grow it. Prune the tip of the main and train a secondary as the new main.Ive grow some good pumpkins on flatvine plants.

I have had luck with a double vine no trimming required what I do if I have a double vine is try to get them to grow out of it.. first I add a higher nitrogen fertilizer not organic though some good old chemical fert. And then I ramp up watering heavily for a few days while pushing nitrogen at the same time and then most of the time I can get them to snap out of it.... ribbon vine in my opinion has no trait I want so if it was me I would cut it off and replant. However you can snip out a grow tip or two then let sit and repeat until you have one main I have tinkered that way as well

if your family tree was as inbred as these popular seeds? you might be born with a double vine as well? or- three ears and no nose? thats the risk at times? just guessing here.
agree with the big man cojoe and big city.

Thanks for input guys. Ended up pulling one, replaced with a plant grown from my own seeds. Pruned the tip out of the other. Straight race between a neglected back up and a secondary vine now.
