No, not what you think... I mean the main running vine.
It seems 50% of my plants have had this issue, and my 1945 Snyder has a 3 foot main that is at a 45 degree angle off the ground and very rigid.
Any other last minute suggestions on how to make the vine more pliable? It was 92 degrees and sunny today and it still was stiff as a board.
I am mounding soil and using bamboo to slowly push down, but what causes this? I have only used Fox Farm 6-4-4 twice and that is it over the last 3 weeks. Can it be too much N? Too much water, not enough, genetics?
Lots of questions, any thoughts are appreciated. The kink is on its way! lol

Stop all the Ning slack off water slightlyyy and hope you don't get a flood/surge then when it lays down have fun and continue onward
sticks over under move mid day easing and evening for 2-3 days and it'll be down. i Added so much in start hole last year on 1 Plant literally didn't fully hit down til 5ft...many sticks were involved

Thanks fellas, I've been in this game for a while and don't feel I've been over watering, but then again the plant was flooded completely just 2.5 weeks ago after a foot of rain. I might let it dehydrate a bit.
Thanks again

Not over watering just water brings the nutrients in faster and sounds like its riding the fence so all the N is getting delivered.

Remove the second true leaf. It is a natural kickstand but has done its purpose once the plant naturally tilts that way with a second true leaf larger than the first. Have bamboo sticks under the main ready when the plant lowers down. I call those sticks the cradle. Then cut all early tendrils flush. They also impede lowering down. After this the vine will eventually take on the traditional hanging tip curved towards the ground. Use bamboo stakes in multiple areas of support especially if windy. Continually lay here down and use 2 bamboo sticks over the the 2 cradle sticks. Once close tloser to parellel to ground level put some soil under main where elevated sections are. Then add more soil later to have a gradual mounding where you supported the early main.

too much water. Back off a bit and they will lay town. Criss Cross some bamboo under them so they don't try to lay down all the way in one day. Other wise the main vine may crack during the fall. Growers will be posting about cracked vines usually right about now.

all great suggestions- heres another.
when planting place the small plant pitched at a downword (main leaning down into the soil) angle. less drop the main has to make. or also you can build soil ramp under the main and taper it from high (by base --- to low (ground lever)
pin as needed but dont pin early a,m, when plant is cold
it works

bring flowers and gifts, talk to her, tell her you love her.
remind her shes the best thing that ever happened to you. you cant live without her -etc-etc.
feed, fertilize and protect from disease as well.(the plant and pumpkin of course)
show her a picture of shazzy shazz in his hay day.
that should do it---lol
