I had to google it myself after your post..got tears rolling down my cheeks! My version of Flamunda was from fishing the ocean. My buddy was pier master and when somebody caught a fish and they didn't know what it was he called it a Flamunda fish. It came flamunda..from under..the water. So I figured what the hell...it came Flumunda the ground. I had check spell come up so I figured it wasn't a real word. Most of the parts are right. I think I did post the site is supposed to be fun as well as informative!!!!!

I got an email from a genteleman saying its possibly a beet or thai basil.....Sooooo looks like we have narrowed it down to Kale, eucalyptus, thai basil, beet, or flamunda plant.....should be fun to watch it grow....gosh Bnot haven't even condisered a name yet...maybe ill name it "Stanky".....Stanky Flumunda

We have a slightly different variety that grows here: Frumunda. I think its named for a type of cheese.
