This probably should have been posted on the pest board, but nobody reads that one much. My peppers, all inside because it's still too cold yet to put outside, are infested with aphids. We are talking 20 plants. I did the detergent+water spray but it seems to have little effect, help please.

1/8 tsp of merit with 1 gallon of water sprayed lightly on the leaves will take care of them. I noticed some the other day on my pumpkin seedlings, first time ever had them indoors.

If you have purchased peppers from a grocery store they were probably treated at least once with Admire Pro or Provado (Imidacloprid-same as merit) which is approved for many vegetable crops but has restrictions that need to be followed.

I've always wonder if you could use merit early on with plants you plan to eat.

Ron do you spray it on your eating plants?

I know it works well. I had aphids in my pumpkin hot houses in March before I planted my pumpkins and I sprayed, exact same Mix Ron suggested and it killed them extremely fast.

All of the plants were grown from seed. Don't think we have anything like Merit here, I'll find something.
