1 of my plants, 2008 Neptune, has 3 primary leaves. I've never seen or heard of it, is this a good thing? Bad thing? Or doesn't really matter thing?
I posted a picture in my diary, but it hasn't been approved yet.

It might grow out of the issue you are having, but it certainly isn't a good thing/normal behavior. The question is, would you want to risk the deformity further down the line or cut losses and ensure a healthy plant later?

If I saw that I would expect a double or ribbon vine. But you never know. Your plant is just now showing it's first true leaf. Just have a back up plan if it goes badly. If the second true leaf is side by side it would be better to go with your backup plant.

I believe this has been posted before and the plants immediately grew out of it

I searched and only saw 1 thing, a diary entry where the seeds sprouted while still inside the pumpkin. I'm starting another seed today, assuming it sprouts, I will have 5 plants and only room for 3. 2 of the 5 have mutant leaves though. Time will tell what I end up with.

If your having multiple plants with the problem then I think I would start something else. one plant could be called a quirk

Have a backup plant ready in case it won't straighten out. In my experience, they're ribbon or multiple vine right from the start.

I had one of these, I could never straighten it out since it was moving so fast doubling right off the bat. Good Luck.

My 2185 had 3 cots last year. I decided to go with it because it was the best of the 2185's I started. Plant was fine.
