Amazing job for your first year. It takes many people (including me) multiple years to perform that well. I am looking forward to seeing how you do next year!

Congrats!...and Welcome to the madness ;) In 2011, when I attended my first weigh-off, it was pretty similar. Never really aimed at going to a weigh-off or never expected to have such a decent size pumpkin by the end of my 2011 season, and then the pumpkin grew, and it also passed the 400 kg mark (it didn´t look that heavy, thought it could be 350+) and on site it was the 3rd according to OTT measurement. That was already a big positive surprise. Finally, it came in 2nd, because the slightly bigger one went light. No need for making more words, the fact that I´m still growing giant pumpkins could be a warning as to what you could expect from your future when you really caught the bug ;) Best of Luck for your 2026 growing season!

Wow, what a fun, well-worded Diary and accomplishment(!); 'Weigh to Grow', although in reverse, lol. I'm a little worried about the Fairy with the scissors, lol! eric g
