An old story for you new growers... Once upon a time someone actually guessed the 2012 season almost perfectly. It was unreal, uncany. Does anyone remember that thread? Well they got the top weight, the grower, the weigh-off location... all correct. Not sure if they got the seed correct. Anyhow your 2019 guesses are welcome. Let us see who can make the best 2019 guess. How about a top U.S. / world marrow guess? Throw any odd guess about anything out. Most accurate prediction wins! Extra points if we laugh now but it turns out to be correct. Ps... 2018 blossom down growers sorry... I am behind on contacting you... I guess I will get that done today!

How about a 'Over 10/Over 2,000' challenge--- any grower(s) that can certifiably grow in a certifiable fashion a 2000-plus-pound pumpkin from a seed that is, yes, over 10 years old and the official weight is over 2,000 pounds, wins a prize, like, the respect of all growers for all of eternity, or something, lol---like, i grew a 1007 Brown last year - that was 17 years old, and in '18, a 783 Daletas, also 17 years old +; no records here, lol, but, i have 1007 X 2145 now and the reverse and the 783, well, i let go of the only fruit that was poll'd by the 783 and the 783 never got sold or the seeds removed; if there's an AG sprouted where the 783 has gone to mush, it'll have been poll'd BY the 1585 Werner, so, THAT'd be a good cross, eh? just sayin'---eg --- sorry, TOTAL hijack of a post --- but, we're buds, lol---

oh, i'm no one to be in charge of it, but i should think it'd be like a raffle, where a hundred gets you a thousand, the biggest grown from the oldest of a group of suggested seeds, and there'd be a few categories to distribute the collected mulah---plus, it'd have to be officiated---it could be called 'The Oldies Reborn Competition' lol---imagine a 2200-pound 810 Dill fruit, lol----eg

I like it... oldest seed x hottest new seed... yes, this might stir the gene pool in a way that could be good, possibly.
The marrows are a different shape than the field pumpkins but they are the same species and the results may continue to be similar... largest marrow may or may not beat the largest field kin...
The bushel gourds will be fun to watch.
