Over the years I've had some fans that take an all weather beating without quitting and some that crap out or flip the breaker at the first rainfall.

What is everybody's preferred 24/7 outdoor fan?

I had a dozen cheap 20" box fans last year, I always put duct tape around the plug in end, garden only tripped twice all summer, and I had probaly 200 ft of drop cords

6 inch fans come with a stand or a clip from walmart. ive had some for 3 years. $10 and they run 24/7 at times

I've had the 6" fans with a clip from WalMart for 5-6 years now. I try to have then under a cover but stuff happens and they have been fully exposed to the rain or sprinklers at times and they still keep turning on. I like the ones with clips because you can get them angled wherever you want, even up under a stem if you have to.

My garden is too far away from electricity, but I have a battery powered fan and rechargeable batteries. One time with a stem split I used a minnow bubbler, took off the stone and put the hose directly in the split to dry it from inside.

always keep eye on fans on sale
i had to take out my gfi it tripped to often in rain
ive had 3-4 fans burst into flames and so many burnt drop cords cant count them all
do not do as i do danger

I like the cheap box fans from the place that sells them closest to my patch. I have some old, crappy extension chords that work great too.

No fires or problems in 15 years. If you connect enough 50 foot extension chords together there isn't much electricity that actually makes it to the fan.

fans are like a ice cold beer on a muggy day.
as long as they satisfy i dont care who made um or how i got um.
do suggest an overhear covering though just in case it rains.
clip on fans work great. clipped to a piece of rod or stake, held at the proper angle for best effect.

I "try" to cover mine,I think dirt splashing on them is the worst, tape over the cord connections and elevate the connections above the ground,just a scrap of 2x4 flat on the ground is enough

I use the fans out of lawn inflatable decorations. When they are no longer repairable, I keep the fan and use them in the patch. I keep one blowing on the stump and one on the stem.

Be thankfull you have electric nearby to hook up plug in your fans. I have two patches. One in my backyard where I have no problem with an electric hookup, my second patch I have no electric available. So last year I did have a problem with one plant with no electric. I went out and bought a small D size battery operated small fan that took 6 D size batteries. Problem is using the best D size batteries will last only 48 hours, so I only ran them during the hottest part of the day and turned them off at night and I would get four days of running time. This year I will be looking for a fan that runs on solar power if it is available and affordable!
