Not my preferred way to start seeds so after following the steps, how often do you disturb the process to check for success?

lol, you don't, give it 48 hrs undisturbed a couple test runs and you can check progress, but that should give you a pretty good indication if its going to go.

Thanks Eddy, I'm dying here! I always plant multiples and the winners go to the prom.

If the roots are already growing into the paper towel just carefully tear/cut the paper towel an inch or two around the root and seed and plant the small piece of paper towel and seed together. Don't try to pull the paper towel from the seed or the seed from the paper towel.

I've had the tap root curve in a 180 and start growing up the side of the seed when letting it go over 3 days. I think that can be corrected but not ideal.

They say seeds are viable longer if put in freezer, I have never done that. How much longer are they viable doing this?

I've taken a few out of the seed coat that wouldn't root and exposed them to light. They start photosynthesizing and eventually rooted. Although they were all about 1 month behind, but if your just in it for genetics they are fine. Didn't work on all.

Have the paper towel in a zip lock baggy. Hold the baggy up close to a bright light - you can see if they have germinated without having to open it. you can check them as often as you want.
If they have germinated - Then do what Bill suggested - plant the seed and paper towel.
