Big Show Attendees-
The GPC Exec Committee has graciously granted me permission to organize and host a pumpkin club & pumpkin weighoff "best practice sharing" breakout session at the Big Show. To my knowledge, this will occur concurrently with Andy Wolf's "Pumpkin 101" session on Friday evening.
My goal for hosting such a session is to facilitate the open sharing of knowledge for the betterment of club & event vitality... How can clubs better serve and grow their memberships? How can weighoffs better meet and exceed expectations of financiers, contestants, and the general public?
I extend the invite to all Big Show attendees, with the hope and expectation that those who do attend come prepared to share their ideas on how to answer the above stated questions.
I plan to host the session in a round-table, open discussion format. No power point slides or lecture from the podium. I welcome constructive criticism, but will not allow it to devolve into a pissing match over rules interpretation or any historical conflict. The point is sharing ideas for moving the hobby forward.
Club officers and event organizers are encouraged to participate. If you have thoughts or items of notable interest, please reach out to me beforehand.

Joze, will the important info that folks offer be available to those that are unable to attend this event? I am from Kentucky, and our weighoff event is fairly small, and am looking for tips to help it grow. Peace, Wayne

Out of love for this hobby, the people in it, and what it represents, I will gladly capture crib notes on the points discussed and share that with the community here on BP.com.
