Everywhere there are growers

The 150 square feet pumpkin growing contest for 2017 is open ! Sharpen your skills and join the contest to see which grower can grow the heaviest pumpkin in only 150 square feet (14 square meters). A fixed patch size means you don't have to own a farm with acres and acres of space to compete with other growers. Can you beat the current record of 814 pounds in 150 sq ft? Many have tried but it still stands. The complete rules and prize structure are listed in the document at this link,http://www.bigpumpkins.com/ViewArticle.asp?id=180
Email bart@team-pumpkin.org to enter after you read the rules.

I wasn't going to take a break from the 150 contest this year...but thinking about it. I can't stop at only a pb of 704 pounds in 150...need to break 1k. Last year was fun too trying to keep up with FlatNorm. I will try it again..but this time it might be harder. Going to try it in the community garden. Will have a 15 x 40 sq ft area to grow in. One will be the 150 plant which will leave 450 for the other. Planning to plant two seeds...a 1385 h/j and a 1625.5 Gantner. Hope to cross the two. Which one is going to be the 150 plants...hard decision. Have a few months to decide the best way to proceed.
Encourage everyone else to give it a try if you have a small spot available. Trying to maximize that small area really helped me learn to grow the full size plants better.

Fancy a go at this, is it one plant per grower or can you hedge your bets and do multiple plants?

one plant per grower and you must declare the space at the start of the season along with keeping a few diary entries here on BP.

I think I'm in. I won't win but it looks like fun and I finally have the space.

It is always fun. So far there are growers from 4 countries registered. You need to register to be in, pondering won't get you there.
