I think it's time for a Giant Pumpkins only forum...No Exceptions. The general discussion board has gone just a little to vague!

This should be interesting? Peace, Wayne

The whole point of this site is meant to have fun, learn, and enjoy the conversations people are having. If you don't like what people are posting about, you have the right not to read the posts.

That sounds like a good idea. I don't want to make more work for Ken, but it would satisfy concerns expressed on the other related post. There are boards exclusively for other giant categories, it's worth having a look.

Thank you Andy. Nice to see you can finally agree with a fellow Nova Scotian....

I sort of agree with SmallTown here.
Thought police? I got an obscene phone call the other day that lasted for 20 minutes. Middle of the winter don't much matter to me what is posted. But maybe Donk is right and people should be encouraged to post in the correct category.

A giant pumpkin only forum on the BigPumpkins.com site? What is this world coming to?

ahaaaa...So what do you think Mr. Rebel? I think it is a great idea especially for any newbies trying to maneuver the boards in search of Giant pumpkin info!Sifting through all the football, baseball, politics and synchronized swimming gets frustrating

Actually I tried something just now, I put Donkin on IGNORE and found nothing but peaceful informative posts. Carl honestly you really should try that, put yourself on ignore and you will even impress yourself. Sorry if I stepped on that one feeling you have left.

Not to be demeaning DONKIN, in any way...but for cavitysearch listening to an obscene phone call for 20 minutes, is a tad weird to be on the general discussion board. Butt, (sorry)...comical as it can get!!! LOL Peace, Wayne PS...I think there is already a new growers thread on this site.

Wayne, cavitysearch lives on a small isolated Island in between the mainland of Vancouver and Vancouver Island, so any phone call is prolly a welcome one...ha ha

Carl posts a poorly worded suggestion (he lives on an Island too) and you guys jump all over him like a pack of high school bullies...

Use the ignore feature or don't visit the "other" board at all...pretty simple.

Some history to consider - I was a heavy daily user of Bigpumpkins.com in the early 2000's. Then I spent about 10 years following my kids around the country watching their high school athletics. My youngest are twins and graduating from H.S. in a few months, so I'm back on reading Bigpumpkins.com as I will have a ton more time to grow this summer and on. Back in the day 10+ years ago we always had several users just like there are now intentionally string up crap weekly. I remember some huge arguments back in the day. Thats the way its always been.

Creating a new tab to post specific items in may sound like a great solution, but won't do a darn thing as far as everyone getting along all the time over the long term.

If someone posts something you don't like being posted in a particular section, PASS OVER IT AND MOVE ON. That takes literally seconds.

And realize these guys who stir stuff up on a regular basis do it on purpose, and enjoy the negative attention.

15 years from now there will still be guys who stir stuff up on purpose on Bigpumpkins.com, it will just be different user names.

Your right Stellern, and most of them are gone now...welcome back, I remember you from back then. I hope you do a diary this year, I'll be watching.

DONKiN, not sure if you know this but "Garden Rebel" is one of the finest groweres of pumpkins and tomatoes in the world. Probably not cool to use his handle in the same post with the word "newbie"... Just saying...

I tend to joke a lot now, I had fifty years in business being serious. I come to this site because of the qualtiy of the info and help offered by the real players. Glenn (North Shore)is one of those guys; always the gentleman.
So here's a "thank you" to all of you that help others.
Now can someone translate this for those slow folks in Nova Scotia.

Careful now Cavity, don't clump me in with others you consider to be slow. There are a lot of Nova Scotians who visit here, not just the ones you see.

Cavity, for someone with 50 years experience in business you would assume you learned a bit of couth. I'm also from N.S. and proud of it. Perhaps we are not all as quick to paint a group with the same brush as yourself. If you have a beef with someone then direct it at that individual and not an entire province. Personally I don't appreciate your comments but maybe I am too slow to get it.....

I'm not sure where about on this thread that i offended anyone.I thought it was a pretty good idea at the time as did a few others.Believe me when i tell you that i will not loose one minute of sleep when it comes to personnel attacks so feel free to use the ignore feature like Glenn stated.Jonh Mackinnon is correct. My tone or choice for words has absolutely nothing to do with other Nova Scotia growers and by the way Gads i am very aware who Garden Rebel is.

The fact that John, who rarely posts, came on to respond and that Cavityman hasn't posted to clarify his message speaks volumes. Am I being too sensitive? No, I have thick skin. Let's insert other locales....

"Now can someone translate this for those slow folks in Rhode Island."
"Now can someone translate this for those slow folks in Ohio."
Can you imagine the replies. You see where I'm going. You have a beef with someone, call someone out. The Dills, the Ansems, the Reids aren't slow, they are pumpkin royalty. Anyway Cavity, I'm done with this thread. Anything you may post in the future won't be read by me.
