This is the year that I will have a pumpkin bigger than porkchop at the scale. Not because I grew a bigger one than he, oh no. It will be due to a tannerite mishap.

Baitman, I keep a lot of poultry and work a lot with local ag groups promoting and teaching poultry/livestock keeping. It is something I know a lot about. A couple of years ago I went out to one of my chicken coops and in a nest there was a huge egg. I mean just ridiculous. After a seconds shock I decided that one of my friends had put a goose egg in the nest just to mess with me; we do that. I took it in the house and looked closer, it was a chicken egg. A jumbo egg is something over 71 gms. (large 60 gms, XL 65gms), this egg weighted 175.5 grams! Over 6 ounces, Staggering to me a long time poultry keeper. I will occasionally get a monster egg that is 110 to a 120 gms, but this took the prize. I kept it and showed it to the poultry club and anyone who I thought might be interested. My first thought was to incubate it and have the world's largest chicken, but the shell had defects so that would not work. Then- I decided to have breakfast.
When I cracked it open there was an entire whole xl egg (with shell) inside the egg. On research this is unusual but not unknown.
So, I think you are onto something. Grow one pumpkin inside the other and Grow Em Big!

bnot is sitting at the campfire dreaming about tomatoes and accidentally burns his marshmallow... wait---that's a pumpkin??!

meanwhile in town at the bigpumpkin bar... I think there are some hard feelings... Know-nothing-clayton sitting by himself out in Washington hears the Wisconsin boys hootn' and hollern'... they don't like him making any l i g h t conversation about their seeds...??!

clayton is an angry guy because his pumpkins are so small... uh oh... I think a fight is brewing!

...that ne'er do well pirate picks up a half drunk bottle of absinthe (anyone in Washington up for confessing to drinking it? The brand is 'Tobeck's Curse') He throws it... lucky for Bubba's green teeth he squashes down at the last second...! it flies over minnesota... and it hits Q-tip in the head! oh no!

jakeb30 heads for the exit... he knows someone is gonna get kicked out of the bigpumpkin bar tonight and its not gonna be him.

Luke I remember that photo post, made my pumpkins shrivel! I stopped complaining (for an hour or two) about a few bent leaves.
Glenomkins, you said the bottle was "half drunk". I had a drink to think and thunk it was the person who drank it was half drunk, I think, maybe.
Hey, you folks know how to tell if a farmer is dead?

They quit complaining!
