My 1376 Akkerman seems to be aborting all of its fruit at about day 7. The plant is huge and is growing fast. I haven't applied any fertilizer in the last 3 week sDoes anyone know how to get the plant out of the leaf growing stage into fruit mode? See my dairy for a photo of the 1376. Any help would be appreciated as the plant seems to have potential.

Did you get a soil test done? If your soil is high in nitrogen it will cause your plant's fruit to abort and get really bushy. Your plant will need potassium and phosphorus in order to develop good rooting and fruit development, but do not apply to much that will also cause the fruits to abort in the beginning when they are trying to set after pollination.

My nitrogen isn't very high, but we have had a lot of rain in the last 2 weeks. The plant does have symptoms of excess nitrogen. I am wondering if there is anything I can still do to get a fruit set..

Ontario

I understand tomato growers will spray manganese sulfate to encourage them to blossom. Over 2 lb per acre.

Potassium and phosphorus are at good levels. My sulfur is very low so I am adding liquid sulfur to my fertilizer concoction.

If your soil is well drained you could try adding extra water to leach excess nitrogen out of the soil.
