Everywhere there are growers
|
2016 was a fun but difficult season for the 150 square ft contest. We started with 24 official entries representing 7 countries. Of those, 7 completed the contest with weights 10 declared themselves ‘out’ 2 reported BES 5 have no report
791 Tiger Girl 704.5 Bnot 529.1 Pumpking 366.5 Pumpkinson 352 UOW NathanK 177.5 Captain97
793 pounds FlatNorm (had to much fun so declined to be ranked for the contest)
Prize checks will be mailed as soon as I confirm the correct mailing addresses. We hope everyone had fun and learned something about their patch and growing pumpkins this year. Congrats to all who participated and especially to the top growers. We will have to try again next year to see if anyone can beat the contest record of 814 pound held by captain97.

i had a wonderful time...quite the challenge to try to grow in a small area. I hope to try it again soon...probably not next year as i am going to be back to growing only two pumpkins. In my thoughts...flat norm was the winner this year.. awesome job growing Bart. I think the elusive 1000 pound 150 sq ft plant might be in reach next year. Might have to pick something other than orange to put in the space. I encourage any grower that has a spot open for it to try to give this challenge a try. I know I learned alot.
