I've been through most diaries looking for weigh-off pictures. What pumpkin did you see in person that was really impressive either for weight, % heavy, color or anything else that comes to mind. There always seems to be some impressive pumpkins that somehow slips through the cracks. I'm trying to get some ideas for what seed I would like to try to get for next season. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Mark G.

John Barlow's 1929.5 was impressive, especially considering the weather. I heard his patch got flooded, and the stem was in terrible shape. It looked like he only had about 20% of the stem still feeding the pumpkin. That one could have easily gone way over 2000# with better weather.
Don Young's 1641.5 was also impressive. Great shape and grown under rough conditions too. He lost the stump in early August. It was another one with 2000# potential that the weather sabotaged.

Best I have seen...J&J Van Hook at Ky weighoff...New State Record 1489#. Of course they weigh them in order by estimations. Van Hook was weighed 4th from the last & stood up to all the competition...18% HEAVY!!!! 8 out of 11 kins entered in the weighoff went over 1K#...New state record for CC melon by Frank Mudd @ 305#. Superman Kent set a new world record for Black Diamond melon @ 205#!!! Attending weigh off is an incredible thing, even though I hauled my AG in the back seat of a Malibu!!! LOL Peace, Wayne

While watching the p-kins arrive at our weigh-off, I noticed 3 big ones that arrived together. Once they were unloaded I found out they were all grown by the same grower. After they were weighed, he had 2 that were 1600+ and one that was close to 1500 lbs. To get a single p-kin to a weighoff is one thing, but to show up with 3 of that size is amazing. I have never witnessed anything like that before.

I'm looking to add something for 2017 to my line-up from a 1700+ that went 10% heavy or greater and had a decent amount of orange to it. Has anyone seen anything that fits this description?

It's been a while now, but the 1061 Ciliberto, 1097 Ciliberto, and 1469 Checkon were all incredible to see in person.
