I have the same trouble! There used to be one in Shattuck, and maybe a couple others. There were none this year. Closest one to you would be probably be in SE Colorado. Also there are some in Arkansas and Missouri.

I grew one this year with the seed pack from St Croix grower association. It was 500lbs, I'm going to try to make a run at the Oklahoma record of 880 next year. I learned so much and have realized I have done so much wrong since then. So I am ready to use what I have learned. I am also trying to gather seeds.

You can start a weigh off, but it takes work for sure. I am not sure of all the details. I would think part of the problem is getting judges to come to this part of the world.

Jake good luck I am also running for the state record this year! My goal is a 1,000 I believe with the seeds I have and the set up I have I can hit 800. I will be happy with 600, anything less and I will be upset. Threw down some big money on seeds time to go form big maxes to giants! Jake you will give me some one to compete with keep me posted, I don't know anyone out this way growing Giants.

Hi guys: I just got back from the Oklahoma City Zoo. I took my pumpkin down there and it is now on display for their big Haunt the Zoo event.

Greg was my main Contact and he said he wants to hold a weigh off there next year. This would be an amazing place for a weigh off. Here is the zoo's phone number. Just ask for Greg and tell him Jacob told you to contact him

You both are in some tough growing areas. Biggest grown in Missouri this year was 650. Just 20 minutes of bad weather and constant heat\humidity is by far our limiting factor as I'd bet it is in Oklahoma and Kansas. My plants did well in 2011 when we had plenty of bad storms including the Joplin tornado, but this year a 20 minute microburst destroyed my entire patch. Another grower 3 miles from me was okay.

Best of luck with this.

I know we are and that's why Oklahomas state record is only 880.
