My question is does mycorrhizae cause the stumps and vines to get bigger? Third season growing and I have used some products containing myco but I think it's all been on the low end. My vines don't even compare to some of the pictures I see in some diary entries.

Mycorrhizae helps the plant roots take up nutrients that feed the whole plant from stump, vine, leaf and fruit. Some genetic lines do have bigger vines than others; I have seen that in my patch with the same soil and amendments. Best vines I ever had were from a 1493 Witter-Benson, a selfed 2009 Wallace. Best stems was from a 359 Foss, 1/2 2009 Wallace. A bigger vine and stem can get more water and nutrients into the fruit.

pumpkin#1 mycorrhizal fungi does increase main vine(and fruit) size for the reasons the iowegian mentioned above. my 2009 offspring going to frerichs farm next saturday has a main vine so big the only way i can describe it is to say "picture a round ranch style fence post ? lets hope it equates to a meatier fruit pap
