So.... I'm a first time grower here in mm.... Zero soil prep and going for the state record.... So then I hear the stare record holder has a pumpkin that he says will beat his record.... Ok... So his pumpkin was 20 dap 137 ott... Mine was 20 dap 163.... I'm a month behind him but... My weigh off ain't till oct 22nd.... And she's gaining! His 42 dap was 450 lbs... Well I'm only at day 25 but I'm 214 and gaining at 22 pounds a day at this stage and she hasn't even hit her stride! But if she stayed at this rate she'd still beat 450 @ dap 42.... By 138 pounds!
So my point is... I'm doing the math.... And my pumpkin is a contender!

True... But that's what's making it interesting down here.... I might have been late to the game but I know what I'm doing and I'm not giving up on this pumpkin that is winning despite all the odds against her!

Not all dap are equal.

A 20 dap that falls on July 15 is getting something like 15hrs of daylight vs. a 20 dap on August 20 gets 13.5 hr.

Regardless of the youth of your pumpkin the time of the season is as important.

Not saying you don't have a shot just pointing it out.

So then all the more... Mines has better gains despite the lack of daylight...

I think you have a chance.
my pumpkin started a lot slower for me but pushed 25 pounds for a long time.
now only 8-9# a day at day 79.
measuring 1060# and thumps like a rock, I mean it's thick!! hoping
for a 100% heavy.
I hope your pumpkin holds on
good luck.
either way I met my goal, and proved 1000# over a mile high, in the evil desert is possible.

My goal was just to beat the state record this year.... And it's still just my goal... But I'm impressed by this pumpkins growth... She just surpasses my expectations... So I'm going with hers rather than mine!

Plus the weather is finally in the nice pumpkin growing upper 80's! I'm taking the shade tarps off and letting the stump see some daylight tomorrow!

We're getting nice heavy monsoon rains in the evenings.... I water 3 times a day... So the extra surge doesn't worry me.., it's nature saying... U don't water her enough chicken! Lol.... And I'm all about top dressing micro nutrients, calcium, potassium and whatever.... The stump is still trying to grow side vines that I pinch tips off!

Good luck, I hope you make your goal! Good advice here, slow and steady we still have a long way to go, even water, nutrients, and pest control along with good weather will get you there.

Go for a nice pumpkin specimen first.Trying to figure out a state record at day 25 is ???. Have fun with the process the scale will answer your question about records.
