David Thomas from the UK holds the world record for the heaviest English Cucumber at 28.4 lbs. I won 4 of his seeds at the EGVGA auction and had a lot of fun growing the plants this year. They can be grown on the ground or vertically. I picked my first fruit today as it broke its support and damaged the stem. It weighed over 23 lbs. I think we could give the UK boys some competition if we tried. I will have lots of seeds if you would like to give it a go.

When they are small they look good to eat but I didn't try one. Plants very productive- they would grow a lot of cucumbers. I may try one for food next year.

Pete, I'm in Alaska. About the only vegetables that grow outside are potatoes and cabbages. I grew them in my high tunnel.
