Multiple pumpkins headed over 2000 and one well over 2500, that isn't luck. That diary should be a sticky for all to take note. The paragraph of the most recent measurements is mind boggling.

It must be a really loooong walk daily out to the garden to lift the sheet. Or is it five times daily.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes.
This is the point in our season that every grower that ever grew pumpkins needs to get thru.
The high humidity and heat from those first couple weeks in august coupled with age taking a toll on the earlier parts of the plant and you have a recipe for disaster. especially if you may have had issues before the heat and humidity arrived.(like a good friend once said "when it rains it spores")
Every day the plant must be inspected and action taken appropriate to the issues (ie-cracks,splits,flagged leaves, soft spots on stem/main-fans galore -etc,etc. imagine the strain your body would endure if you were gaining large amts daily?
If we growers can get past this month and into that first week or so in sept?, we should be able to coast into oct.
Every grower be it new or old in our hobby can relate to the hard work associated with anything we suceed at.our best wishes to all of you as well
Pap & Ron
