We had quite a bit of rain in July and a round hole developed right above the blossom nub about an inch deep. I cleaned it and dried and it looks good except now it is splitting in the hole. Is there anything I can do to releave stress or is it gone? I've had typic BES a few times and they usually start inside and move out where this is opposite. This is my only pkn now after a 20 minute storm destroyed my other plant and pkns on it. Thanks

Home of happy lil plants

had a similar hole beside blossum happen last year from the blossum flower rotting and rot opening up the blossum tube, hole intersected with the blossum tube.... it was sucking air thru the blossum tube just enough to stop kin from growing. could not see the issue til i had a hole to cut seeds out in the top of kin and it sitting 6ft in the air and me looking up and could see a tiny dot of blue sky, 100000 % it wouldve passed at a weighoff even cause cant see it and you dont want to go poking there if you have no issue! so on that note hope it heals over and you dont haveto worry with it

Thanks Spence. The white blossom area is in tact. It is directly above it. It keeps getting deeper, but held up as of this morning and looks to be hardening up.

I don't need her to be street legal as I have no intention of going to a weighoff. I'm hoping to have it around for my kids bday next month. Not many kids around here see pumpkins as tall as they are.
