My son's plant has developed a disease I have never seen in all my years growing. I will post photos in my diary soon. You would swear it's powdery mildew at first glance, but it is not. It started out as small round white spots, about a 1/4 inch wide, white, looks a little fuzzy. Take your finder to it, and you can rub it right off.
Sprayed plant with organic sprays that always work for controlling powdery mildew, and these white round dots spread like gangreen. As it progresses, entire leaf turns white just like powdery mildew would look. You can still rub it off when it is thick. I am totally shocked at how fast this has spread, now 60% of plant is majorly infected and spreading fast. It is definitely some kind of disease, looks like a fungus or something. Any ideas? My poor 5 year old son has had a rough time, he finally got a pumpkin and looks like we will loose the plant soon. Any help with identifying what this is would be great. I will try to post photos tomorrow. Thanks for the help. Jim

Clearly it is fungal based on your description Jim. Sounds like it's time for your wife to face a hard decision. Fungicide or disappoint your son. i hope it works out for you and your son.
