Come Nov i would like to see proof posted on this site how these 2 products contributed to growth!!!!! I will be waiting for data and i will be waiting for research results as to why these products work?? You want $$$$ for a product stand up and prove it!!

Got a good amount of people using both products this year! Last year only myself and Josiah used my product I grew my 1170 a 950+ dmg and my 721 off 150sqft Josiah used it on his 2185 and 1965.

Cannot say much for my patch at this point in time. My 1750 is treated with BigStem and growing well but it's only day 15. Last year it grew me two new personal best.

Any one interested in the science and to why the product works the way it does feel free to email me. Would be hard to type it all up on the page.

Please email Carl the details and data or whatever you have to share. Carl, from what I see it's pretty simple hormone products that are readily available. Spambie has been working on some hormone treatments that have proven pretty effective for him. If you think it's snake-oil, then don't buy it or use it....simple.

First year I grew over 1000 lbs, the only thing I did differently was to add lithovit to my rotation. Do I think Lithovit was the secret potion or the magic bullet that put me over 1000 lbs? No...but I will continue to use it every year just in case.

Keep doing what you're doing guys, it's only mid July, long road ahead.

Carl is going to be all over this come November, no wait, who cares. Little embarased that I missed the Friday night rants. How's the back Carl, growing anything this year wink wink.

Both these products are new and will take years of data to prove, if you think miracle grow was proven the first year out that's wrong, the fact of the matter is there is no hard data that shows these products work only the people who developed then have data from the research they did.
If a 2500 pound pumpkin is grown using bigstem or anthesis who's to say they contributed? There's so many factors that go into it what are two products are not going to get you a world record but it may help.

I think it would be hard to say exactly how either product directly contributed to increased growth... They are simply a piece of the puzzle.

Matt has proven that his product increases cell division by at least a day or a little more. Tanners reduces stress.

In our patches with everything we use and not having consistent genetics from seed to seed being able to place an exacting measurement on how much of an increase these products would add.

Too demand to know how much they increase growth is wrong and irresponsible. We know they aid in an increase. We don't know how much mycos increases our growth yet we know it helps and we use it. These products are the same way.

If you don't want to use them don't, simple as that. As for me I want to be on the cutting edge of new discoveries that will help me beat the pants of my competition. If that means I don't know exactly how a product works then so be it, I will use it and I will learn from it!

Thanks for the nice responses guys both me and Matt really out a lot of time into research on our products. Like Josiah and mikkal said it not gonna be the silver bullet but rather another price of the puzzle.

There are so many factors that go into growing a record I will never say my product was the limiting factor. If BigStem can help grow new personal best than I'm happy...if a new record that's just icing on the cake!

DONKIN here is a short summary for Anthesis…

I am very skeptical of research data so I collected results and comments from others growers. I have included their names and quotes with permission so please talk with them so I am not causing a bias to the comments.

http://www.team-pumpkin.org/anthesis.htm

What demonstrates that Anthesis does truly have an effect is the noticeable slowdown in growth for the first 35 or so days. Also, when two untreated pumpkins were compared with one that was treated with Anthesis the untreated pumpkins were with-in 4.9% of each other while the Anthesis treated pumpkin was 13.0% greater.

http://www.team-pumpkin.org/downloads/Anthesis%202015%20Review-%20Matt%20DeBacco.pdf

Also, based on the supporting scientific literature I used (and posted links and summaries to) there was a 15% theoretical yield increase and to see an observed increase of 13% matches closely with the expected outcome.

All information has been posted and shared publicly to allow growers the make an informed decision about my Anthesis.

I am using both products. The one drawback to Anthesis is that you apply it to the fruit only 48 hours after pollination. I bought 2 doses; one pumpkin aborted and the other whole plant was lost to disease. At day 2 you really don't know if the pumpkin will abort or grow. With Big Stem, you apply it to the fruit and the whole plant day 2 and twice more through the year. I have 3 going right now that have received the first shot of Big Stem, and they are the fastest starting pumpkins I have ever had. Time will tell how they finish. I will try Anthesis again next year and get at least 4 doses. It isn't all that expensive. I have never been a "heavy hitter", I miss early and late sun and get late spring frost being in a deep tree lined valley, so I am willing to give this a shot. Anything to help me even out the odds. Both products have university research behind them. Like they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Matt and Tanner, as in any business, sometimes a no sale is the best sale!!! If it were me and Carl approached with this type of attitude, I would tell him to go pound salt. If by chance you satisfy him and he buys the product, and something goes wrong, like he used round up instead, he will blame you. It will be your fault for his Failure. So I would suggest you AVOID, AVOID

I am no scientist and it is too soon to be able to tell if Big Stem is making a difference; however, as my kins grow I do know it is not hurting anything. The concept makes sense that it would enhance growth and as a competitor for a World Record I do not know why I would not try the Big Stem product.

How do you make a hormone? Dont pay her. How do you make Matt & Tanner moan? Have Carl demand results.

Bubba is using both this year.I will see if I think it makes a difference. On Dap 20 my kin is exactly identical to the 1947.So this should be a good test. The weather is also a factor.BUTT<This is the kind of behavior that keeps people from trying new things.I have been here several times. You bring something new on board.Every clown in town shows up screaming SNAKE OIL!!!LOL Keep up the good work Matt & Tanner. We need to keep trying new things.Im working on a computer tazzer. If someone makes a post that the group finds tacky & bitter or whatever we can taze them in there home from our computer. Its a gas!! with live footage of the shock!!!LOL

Lots of good responses to a question most difficult to address.

Over the past 28 years i have personally being involved in several BIG seasons ( many disapointing seasons as well). Believe you me we have tried our fail share of new products.SOME WORKED SOME DID NOT.

I can tell you for a fact its never JUST ONE OR TWO THINGS that go into a championship size anything.
No magic bullet, rather a bunch of things all working together.

in my book its all what you feel comfortable using that matters most.

we pumpkin heads are a gambling bunch to begin with. always trying for that magic potion.
