This is a new one for me, but smack dab in between 2 nodes on the main was a 3 inch brown spot and a small split. It almost looked like vine borers without the frass. I don't recall any issues when staking that area down and eventually burying adjacent nodes. I scraped\cut away the brown area and have a fan on it. What's an aggressive treatment to combat this? Paint daconil?
All suggestions appreciated - thanks

i get that usually cut it away and cover it with a big enough piece of coreflute realestate sign to keep the rain off and paint it with fungicide but keeping it dry seems the main part here usually lift it a little bit off the ground also

This is a common problem for me in wet periods. I scrape, spray with hydrogen peroxide,air/pat dry some, sulfer it and add a fan. Maybe trim a leaf for some sun.

On second thought...the sulfer may not be needed if you get all the brown off and it would be better to not to sulfer it

Thanks for replies. I've scraped, hit with peroxide and then a fungicide. Fan is on it. Is additional browning normal as long as it's not mushy after I scraped away down to green? I know it'll be good if I get the whitish scar eventually.

If you are watering and temperatures are hot you can get problems. We have been extra hot here and are quite a bit north of you. We are getting extra rain. I think pythium has shown up in one plant. I'm using Agri Fos and Infuse systemics to try to stop it. Surface treatment is good. Sometimes I paint on full strength Daconil on rot spots. It helps.

Thanks Iowa, I painted with Dac today.
Any thoughts on this (below pic)? I'd say 35% percent of the main was cut away. Should I just go with one on a health secondary or this given I get it to stop rotting? Out of room and would not be able to train anything as new main. Thanks
