Iplanted winter rye in my pumpkin patch this spring.How high do i let it grow before i till it in?Do i keep mowing it till july?Thanks.

You can mow it as often as you need to. If you let it get too tall it will bind up your tiller. As you mow the clippings will start to break down on the surface so it will be broken down even faster when incorporated in the soil. Just keep it far enough away from your pumpkin plants so tilling doesn't disturb roots.

Mow it all summer,you have to keep it from turning to seed or the plant will mature and die. Roots roots roots
