I have 2-1060 jarvis in my garden and 1 has to go. 1 has a thicker vine with bigger leaves. the other 1 has a longer vine with better spacing between smaller leaves. I can't decide as I see the advantage of both. which would you pick and why?

If disease is ever an issue in your patch, I like the 2nd choice with better spacing between leaves. Leaf overlap harbors disease, but I see your dilemma.

Some people actually look for genetics with smaller leaves as they don't take as much wind damage.

I agree with you both and that will be my keeper, but its hard cutting off such a thick vine.

Go with the thick vine, and cut off the leaves that are un desirable.

I did. the one with the longer vine had a larger vine head which swayed me to kill the stocky one. I hope I chose right. but no way to ever know

A larger vine head can mean double or flat vine trouble ahead.
Just messing with you. Hopefully you made the best choice. The longer vine and better spacing likely would have been my choice as well.
