Hi all,
Transplanting out soon, likely with a soil cable under a cloche but will look to check what cooler night time temps dip too with min/max thermometer. What's considered an acceptable night temp low? And temp people aim to not go above during for early stage transplants.
Thanks! Douglas

If you've got soil heating cables installed and a cloche, you should be good regardless of the overnight low temperature. Heck, I've had plants outside in a mini greenhouse during very cold (but short lived) snow storms.

early spring we tend to treat our plants like royalty
1. in a mini greenhouse plus heating cable ( keeps soil temp at min 70 degrees ) 2. also, at night we place over the young plant a small hoop ( bent metal fencing material ) plus a 60 watt domed light facing onto the ground 6 inches or so away from the leaves-to keep the air temp warm)---cover this mini-hoop with a heavy bath towel or folded sheet 3.uncover and shut off light in a.m.
plants need heat to grow. they may not die in cold air but they also dont grow well at all. thats why we do what we do.
