The soil raised up enough so that you could see some of the plant but then it stopped moving,I moved the soil away and the cots were open with it coming up in a Y shape. I had one do this before and it had no stem just roots coming out of the cots this was in 2004

I am not sure if this one has a stem I will give it a few days to see what happens, whats going on with this ,anyone know ?

they were on a thermostat controlled mat set to 85.5 with a 4 ft shop light above them

stick a meat thermometer in get real temp and compare

to deep? soil to soft? roots will go down and that push should push cots up. if the soil is to soft and seed planted to deep they can't move off the soil above.

didn't use a meat thermometer, but i had a wireless soil probe in addition to the thermostat, both read the same, seed was inserted point down with top of seed 1" below the surface, I think the soil compaction was ok.

Cecil suggested that I deprive it of light to see if it stretches am doing that before I dig it out to see what it looks like

I have had a few other people say this has happened to them, no one knows why for sure.
