No. Preen is a root inhibitor.

I used it quite a few years ago on green beans and tomatoes when I was having lots of trouble with foxtail. It did a great job on the foxtail, but broadleaf weeds like galinsoga and pig weed thought it was fertilizer. It has taken years to get those weeds under control. I haven't used it again.
