what happened to the Canadian teams in the NHL ? out of 7 teams in Canada, not one of them went to the playoffs this year ? has that ever happened before ?

One of them can take our Saint Louis Blues spot, we are notorious for choking every year in the playoffs.

1970 was the last year, but there were less teams, so this seasons no-playoffs is even more impressive or unimpressive depending how you look at it.

It's been all over the news. Don't have an exact link. 69-70 was the last year.

It's really good for American hockey growth to get an all American playoff. There's some good first round match-ups, that hopefully build on viewership. It's too bad they didn't get a panthers/lightning matchup because that would have given a great boost to Florida hockey fan numbers.

The NHL needs growth in the US. There's no more growth left in Canada.

although the Red Wings backed their way in the playoffs at bostons expence, im glad that they kept their playoff streak alive at 25 years streight.i think it will be Chicago or LA kings against Washington.
