I'm looking for advice on greenhouse structures and things that need to be considered when growing AGs in greenhouses. This summer I'll be moving to the mountains of Utah and at 5,600 feet and a 3 week shorter growing season than Denver I'm going to need a greenhouse to grow the king of pumpkins I'd like to grow. Things I've been thinking about are proper ventilation, fungicide programs, best film to use and how to get what I need without the wife killing me if she ever finds the receipts. Any tips I can get from experienced greenhouse growers would be appreciated.

Proper ventilation is key, figure out the total Sq foot so if your greenhouse is 30x30x12 that will be 10800 Sq feet, every fan has a CFM number on it that represents the air output a 24 x 24 inch exhaust fan will typically put out 6000 CFM... you have to have enough exhaust to match your Sq footage so if you have a 10800 Sq foot green house you'll need at least 2 24 inch exhaust fans which will put out 12000 CFMs.
Shutters work the same way they have a CFM number on them a 24 inch shutter might only let in 4000 CFM so you'd need 3 24 inch Shutters to get proper ventilation.. always put one shutter towards the top of the greenhouse this will help to take down the condensation that builds up on your plastic.

That should say: I've seen local greenhouses that have the side flaps, that seem like a good idea. Anyone have any experience with those?

I am 2 hours from Midway, if you are going there by highway 40 you drive right past me on your way there. On mine all 4 sides roll up, not as nice as Eddy's but works well for us.

Check out mellowpumpkin Josh B Grower Diaries (2015) pages 15 and 16 ventilation. Monsters made in there!

If hiding receipts... Research co2 burners (run them at night , she won't have a clue )

Don't you want high co2 during the day? Not at night?
