Hello i have a question a few years back I used to grow mushrooms...edible ones. I Used brown rice sterilized in a pressure cooker some times when I would make a casing a layer of rice and a layer of Vermiculite I would get the dreaded Trichoderma infection and the whole thing would turn green and if left for an extra week or two the entire casing would be dark green dusty powder. Would this be good root keeper since it is Trichoderma. I realize there are many species, but all seem to protect to roots from what I have read. This is very easy to make and cheap, you will have a ton of it.

I have grown mushrooms also and I think that the dreaded green mold is a different species than what is wanted in the root zone. But I don't really know for sure.
A few controlled test plantings with and without might be an ides.
