Josh, read this. http://www.team-pumpkin.org/downloads/VermontSeminar2-22-14.pdf
This link was posted by Matt D back a few posts. It is about the best overview on fungicides I have seen. Good job Matt! It isn't a matter of one fungicide being the best. It is your overall plant health and disease/fungal control program. That might involve ACT, milk, plant thinning, moisture control on the leaves (not overhead watering), keeping the plant and surrounding area healthy and clean, crop rotation, monitoring the weather and season and timing all this along with a fungicide spray program. I am sure there is a lot more other folks could add. If it were easy anybody could do it!

I start using garlic powder as a repellant the day I set the plants in the garden. I use at least 2 applications of merit, then scout closely for bugs. If I find cucumber beetles or squash bugs I hit them with bifenthrin. If I see adult vine borers I will also dust the vines with Eight and give them a third application of merit. I reapply the Eight after rains and sometimes mix in some Sevin dust. I usually treat all stumps with Eight dust a couple times each season. My main fungicide is Agri-Fos to prevent root rot. If PM shows up I use milk and daconil.
