Anthesis Data Summary (Question 8 of 8)

8-Why are there only advance orders taken? What happens if I need some “in-season”?

The reason why I can only take advanced orders is because of the processing time it takes me to prepare the components of the Anthesis product. The base powders can be difficult to accurately measure and get into solution, so I make sure growers get everything in precisely measured liquids in individual vials. Now, when I say “precisely measured vials,” I am using a micropipette which is expensive to begin with, but I have also taken the extra expense to ensure each one that I use is also calibrated. This guarantees the most accurate and consistent measurement tool of the final liquid aliquot This entire process takes materials and time, so I need to know how big of a batch to prepare, and this is why I need about one month. I will be closing all orders on March 15th and plan on shipping the first orders out in mid April.

If you need some in-season, you are going to have to try and get some from another grower that put in an order during the window I have proposed above, as I will not be making any more outside of the orders I get up to March 15th. I want to ensure everyone is getting the same high quality mixes, so this is the only way I can be certain this will happen. The process puts the stress of accurately measuring on me, which translates to an easy mix for the grower to reduce variability. If you can properly store the contents, know when 48 hrs. post pollination is, and mix the vials in 30 mL of distilled water, you are all set;-) All of the micro liter measurements and ratios will be taken care of for you.

I have done my best to keep the cost as low as possible, as my goal is to get feedback from the growers to determine the effectiveness of Anthesis. For 2016, both vials will total only $8 (+ priority shipping and handling at $7). The Cucurbit is $3 (blue capped vial) and the Maxus is $5 (brown vial), so I encourage anyone interested to make sure they get their order in for their supply.

Matt, how many plants will it cover one plant or more?

Wow. That's a remarkable price given the R and D that has gone into the product.

One application can easily cover 4 pollinations the only catch is that this is 4 pollinations on the same day as once the items are mixed the shelf life of the product is very short (hours). So technically, if you grew 4 plants and each flower opened on the same day you would only need one dose. However, as we all know this is rarely the case. Personally, I would suggest two doses per plant as this would ensure flexibility and ensure you could also treat more than one pollination per plant. If you had any extra after the giant pumpkin pollinations then you could also treat other crops like tomatoes later in the season.

Thank you for bringing up the Research and Development that has gone into Anthesis. As you can tell from the price making money is not my main goal, but do not let the low cost fool you into thinking this has not been extensively research. I want growers to try the product and report back, if possible, so I can continue to collect data. This was an idea I generated after expensive research and I can not do enough trials myself so this is why I have opened it up to the community and based on the first year results I am very happy with how things have turned out.
