hey Donkin...was wondering what you mean? example ? pulling say a 2230 out of a walllace 2015 collection and selling it separate from the rest of their 2015 seeds? and selling the rest as a set? Our auction is #1 trying to raise money for our Anamosa site BUT #2 we wanna give the growers as much BANG for their hard earn buck as we could...MOSt of our grower sets were set up as complete units and we threw in some dandy mother daughter sets that we could manage...its alot of work but hopefully those we bought will be ahppy with what they got DAN

seriously Dan if the lots are split it just makes it more difficult to purchase seed unless the grower is wealthy.Every auction is doing the same thing. If i am looking to purchase a specific lot i would like the entire lot not including the largest grown! I understand where you are coming from but it is expensive for the not so wealthy growers out there. Is the hobby growing?????

Donkin did you look at the Iowa Auction details that we held last saturday night? We decided as a group that we would NOT slide any "biggest grown" by a grower from any 2105 sets we recieved and to my knowledge we did not do that...I cant think of one group we split...off the top of my head the 2015 sets we sold solid top to bottom seed wise were wallaces, Quinn, Bok,mcmullen,zyweic,carter,haist,how/jol,bogie,sperry,jutras,lancaster,vincent,Daletas, only lucky enough to get on of the Brandt seeds...but that is correct I believe all those growers 2015 we sold as full sets top to bottom...so you were happy with what we did correct?? I understand our method is not Better or worse...I just think it provided more band for you buck is all I am saying...we did our best..and are happy with our results DAN

This is the exact problem for the auctions right now.The masses have the wrong attitude. These are fund raisers. Not Walmart get the best deal in town seed sale.Splitting lots is fine it should bring more money for the clubs. This is the objective to RAISE MONEY FOR THE CLUBS>We should see Heavy Hitters buying seeds. Some of these guys win 10 & 20 grand, but wont buy a seed to support the sport & set a good example.Plus all the guys giving away seeds before the auctions are done doesn't help either. It used to be you didnt send out seeds till the auctions were done.I see that has changed. Not picking on anyone here.Just need to get more team spirit on board to drive the seed prices up not down.Eddie is my hero He sets the best example I cant think of anyone who supports the auctions better.I think its time he came out of the closet.lol If you have never bougfht a seed.Spend 50-100 bucks this year.I promise it wont kill you.Its actually fun!!

ron and i have always held off on sending out seeds until such time as we are done sending out all club requests. the clubs are a key to our hobbies future. if they cant raise funds? they run the risk of lower participation at weigh-offs etc? if participation gets low enough?membership dollars and ability to continue soon follow. that is why these auctions are so important. without the clubs? there is little need for a gpc as well. in one way or another everything is connected- we all benefit from others success.

I guess I have a different take on the whole situation on seed cost and making money for the auctions.. my goal and only goal is to HELP the norlins out and raise what i can....My goal has never been to try and drive up prices as I think every grower should have a chance to grow great seeds...I think this hobby has taken a swing towards the wrong direction years ago when money started influencing things..I and marcs goals have never been in it for the money..nice to win but not the driving force...I grow and show for the fun....and if anamosa slips in the amounts they pay out it wont effect us on where we go...I am sure it might effect others who travel a long ways...its just not what drives us...we support a local weigh off and always will as long as we continue to grow...we all have our goals and why we do it...not slamming anyone...just my opinion...good luck DAN ps...Maybe I feel this way because each year I take a minute and look at that picture on the sign in table...OUR weigh off stands for something.something really tragic that happened along time ago..to a really sweet family...and to me its in this memory I try and do what i can.....just saying..

Yes I think respectively this is where the auctions are misunderstood. These are fund raisers for the clubs. If a guy cant afford to attend a fundraiser he shouldnt. There are lots of seeds out there for free. There are lots of great genetics that will never see dirt.My 1124 Clementz 1161 genetics 1634 werner & 2009 wallace.Great seed there are 100s of crosses out there growers can get for free. The auctions are fund raisers. There not the only place to get seeds. Please put your Best Foot forward if you have the money to spare. This is a vital part of the growing world. No clubs? it will dwindle.
