I have some seeds from a pumpkin I grew 2 years ago. It was 1309 Connolly x 1422 giarruso. It had 9" thick walls but rotted from the bottom early. It had a decent amount of seed that I saved. I have tried to geminate about 10 of them and they just rot out. While other seeds germinate right next to them. I don't believe it's what I'm doing. So is it possible they are all duds? Any thoughts?

Maybe split one or two open and see what the cots look like.

I would try both the paper towel and into dirt way.

This is a topic that needs research. My own thoughts are that it would help to have some stratification (a period of cold temps) and also to slowly rehydrate seeds that have been totally dry. For example, allow the seeds to get into cold water and let them become fully hydrated before bringing them up to 85 degrees. (It's what they see in the outside environment!)
