This is the club auction schedule.I feel everyone should step up to the plate and buy at least 1 seed every season & support the clubs. This is very important to the growing of this great sport. So please put your best foot forward this season. Its not about saving money. Its about supporting your favorite clubs!! See you in 2 1/2 weeks at the season opener!

I agree with Mark and Garry. The seed auctions are many clubs only revenue. Consider the seed(s) you buy not only your next big pumpkin, but a donation to your favorite club for costs of newsletters, weigh off expenses, and prize monies. Keep in mind that the clubs generally pay about $4 for the bubble and postage to get the seed from the grower, and another $3 to send it to the winner. Happy Bidding.

^^^what these guys said. Great post, Bubba. As a club administrator, its a great feeling to conclude a successful SCGA auction and go to sleep with the peach and comfort that we can partially bankroll next year's prizestructure and club operating costs. *whew*
Thanks to the bidders who give their hard-earned cash to the collective cause.

Seriously We may not all be as good looking as Eddy & deep pockets LOL! Butt if we all would commit to buy 1 seed this season.Just 1 seed thats all. Each & everyone that attends the auctions. Some seeds go for $25 some $200.I think the Auctions would double there sales this year.
I for one will commit to buy at least 1 seed this BP auction season.Who is with me??Please post below if you are?

You guys are all great! As a club secretary who handles all auction seeds from grower to buyer, I can tell you that it is a lot of work and there is no greater pleasure than saying "Sold!" during an auction. The creation of clubs long ago also propagated the advancement of the hobby of growing giant vegetables/fruit and made it the pastime it is today for you crazy bastards still left in the game and an ongoing pleasure for those of us who are not. We are still waiting to see if there is a limit to which giant pumpkins will grow and we are not there yet because of club support. Great thread Mark.

Completely agree with Bubba and Joze, closet peach sleeper, to those who can, support the clubs when you can.
Tconway- I have two boxes, one with my dream seeds consisting of some present good ones and seeds that will never, without an intervention from God, will ever pop.
The second box consists of seeds that have produced monsters but for whatever neurotic reason I won't ever plant, you are welcome to.

i have the seeds i am growing next year...but i will certainly be shopping the auctions for seeds for the year after. Auctions are great for growers. No need to snuggle up to someone to get their seeds. Just be willing to bid.

I run a club auction. I have the contacts to request literally any seed in the world to plant directly from the growers at the time that I request the auction seeds. And I STILL purchase at least one lot or more from a club other than my own every year. It's just good karma.

I'm looking forward to the auction season. I always buy more then I need. One year bought three 2009 Wallace seeds. Still got one left. Don't think I could afford three now. lol

one of the things that makes me proud of rons accomplishments is that he makes sure all auction seed requests are filled first, before sending (if available) seeds to individual growers. same goes for his wallace wow business.selling his seeds only happens in their second year of existence. the first year seeds go to clubs and any individual requests he can fill. giving back to the hobby is the key to our future.
