On top of Brush Mountain, Pa.

Last year the world's heaviest pumpkin was grown under cover, a new world record. The new world record tomato as well. I thought growers without large greenhouse-like areas would be unable to compete with such advantaged growers. It seemed to me that competing without having some control over too much rain and low temperatures and wind and hail etc would be pretty difficult. It looks like I was wrong, at least this year.

I Think that beni meier showed us that even growing in a controled greenhouse that you can still have an off year. It clear if you grow indoors or outdoors you have to be dialed in and have everything go your way rain temp. sun etc...

Genetics can play a pretty big roll in it too. Its not just weather.

Better let this season finish up before rushing to judgment.

The weather is the biggest factor in all of this greenhouses don't work without sunshine it's that simple

Just Saying without the weather rain fall temperatures all working together sunshine your soil can be perfect and it still doesn't get where you want it you could have the silver bullet seed you still don't get it where you want to. The greenhouse Screenhouse will get you a healthier plant in the end greener or nice or less wear and tear on the leaves but still all in all without the sunshine you can put in enough grow lights on one of these plants to but I know one thing for sure next year I will be pulling my screens back.with the ice caps melting I think the cloudy weather will continue. cloudy weeks we've had three days out of five this summer ,were clouds .all clouds next year ?I'll make it much more easier for me to roll the screen back I just have to deal with the insects that get in when I do that make up the difference you don't have enough amps on your meter in cash in your wallet to pay the bill it would cost you $500 a month for electricity and the weather and the silver bullet seed what Gene got are two big factors. Gene said he had normal amount of sunshine was not cloudy in his areastill too early to tell I don't think Beni Weighed the big one yet.
