Competitive enthusiasts-
In an effort to continually enhance the experience of Stillwater HarvestFest, the SCGA has expanded upon the bonus structure for world-class entries while preserving recognition for growers at all levels of competition. A part of this enhanced structure includes a stipulation that for growers to be eligible for bonus money in 4th-12th places, an entry needs to be >1500lbs and the grower's largest pumpkin of the 2015 season.
While the >1500lb aspect is clear, "grower's largest" carries some ambiguity. To clarify, we are asking growers to bring their largest pumpkin in terms of OTT. Obviously, not every participant has the ability or desire to pre-weigh their fruit. Therefore, OTT becomes the fairest way to define the rule.
As for the rule itself, it was put into place with the goal of continuing to build a highly competitive, world-class weigh off and the ability to judiciously compensate growers for the best efforts in their patches.
Regarding field pumpkins, watermelons, squash, tomatoes, and long gourds, the SCGA will provide a $100 bonus for a state record entry and $250 for a WR entry. State & WR bonuses for all classes are not combined, its one or the other.
We hope these enhancements to our prize structure adequately reward you for your efforts in the garden this season. See you in Stillwater!

The simple point is we want to pay the bonus. But we also want to pay the bonus for your biggest (or heaviest) pumpkin. Do your best to be honest about it.
