I still remember when Al had the pumpkin WR 1446 lbs.He was our featured speaker at the California meeting. he came to Napa and we all went to dinner. All the guys were gathered around him while he sketched his vine training method. Since then he has kept stats on biggest pumpkins by State. He has done a lot to promote pumpkins and long gourds. Hooray For AL!

We were lucky to be there & see it being measured. It was a magnificent specimen that blew away the old record by over 10". Way to go AL.
