No worries ;-)

In 2011 I had a pumpkin slow down extremely fast after I had terminated the last vines, whereas the other pumpkins (on plants with a limited number of growing tips) did continue to grow as usual. The water and sugars used for the production of another 1 or 2 ft of vine probably don´t lower the gains of your pumpkin significantly, but the hormones produced by the vine tip might stimulate the whole plant to be more productive.

I talk with one of the best out there. When he told me he still had the 4 secondaries behind the pumpkin growing full speed and the main out over 80 feet, I about crapped myself! He told me,,,, if you have the room,,,,,, keep them growing....

And yes, always great advice Pumpking!!:)
