Bethlehem CT

I was checking out my best pumpkin this morning, and I notice some dark spots on the stem end of the pumpkin. I did not take pictures but I found something similar on bp.com. Here is the link http://www.bigpumpkins.com/DisplayPhoto.asp?pid=7299
Is the pumpkin going down? My gut tells me yes, but I am hoping that someone has experience with this and that maybe it can be managed. As of right now the spots are still firm and do not feel soft.

Never had that issue on the pkn, but have on the stem. Once the brown spot turned soft I had to cut it away, put non diluted Daconil on it along with a fan. Captan did not help. It took almost a month to get it under control, it was ugly, but made it till the end. Best of luck! Hopefully it's just cosmetic.

If its still growing those kind of spots might just be a sign of puberty. If the fruit isn't growing then spots may be early rot

I hope to bring it to Bethlehem this coming week. So far, so good. You never know with these things until they are lifted and in the truck.

big moon, do you know if anybody can go to Bethlehem when they weigh the pumpkins in, and when they do it? I imagine it's Thu sometime, but even that I'm not sure about
