My field pumpkin plant is aborting the females before they ever open.the males open up fine. The plant is around 15 feet long now with another female starting to show. Any ideas?

Yea they are porkchop.tomatoes are doing fine. I think I might have kept the soil over on that side to dry. So I will water the heck out of it and see if it pulls through.

Had the same issue on one of my FP plants (whih is growing in the same spot as another one which has no problems with its females), but suddenly some females developed and seem to have set a fruit after pollination but I haven´t changed a thing). Looks like this plant has just been waiting for the right time and the right female worth of being put into the cell division and pump-it-up box of this plant.

Had the same problem on my 211 with females on the main. No problem with the secondaries though, so I went with a side vine pollination and terminated the main.

My fp,s will do that until the plant hits enough size and then all is good.

Give it a good deep soaking and let those secondary roots get some water and all will be fine. They are super aggressive and it won't take long and you will have a big enough root system to support a pumpkin or two.
