I have a pumpkin that is growing quite well on DAP 13. It has a spot on the top that I originally thought had a little bug damage. The spot is somewhat darker than the rest of the pumpkin. Yesterday I noticed that the spot was slightly raised and rough. I treated it with powdered sulphur. Today the spot seems to be smoother and not noticeably wet. The darker spot, however, is much larger than I originally thought. Could it be spreading? Is this common? How might this impact the pumpkins growth? Thanks.

Sprayed the pumpkin with 25% diluted moose piss. Heard it will double the cells within the pumpkin and walk itself to the weigh off.

My reply was simply a obviously failed attempt at a little humor. I had hoped I might receive some info that would be useful in addressing my pumpkins problem. I still have the problem but honestly have no respect for Donkin or any advice he might put forward. That doesn't make me a jerk. Go through the message board and you'll see what kind of character he is.

and as I read through the message board I find similar things happen, which mean that he asks a question or he is pointing at something which could be interpreted as a highly interesting question, and sometimes he already has his own opinion to this topic (but usually, or in most cases, without claiming that his opinion would be right)...and then see what others make out of it.

I get that Donkin didn't appreciate the humour I was attempting to convey in my reply. However, his subsequent replies to me were in my opinion uncalled for. I would usually chalk it up to a "loss in translation" but I could point you to a number of his posts (in other threads) where he is too abrasive for my liking. I won't be walking up his driveway anytime soon. lol

You can call me obtuse but I still have no idea why my reference to moose piss caused such a stir from Donkin and was viewed by some as a "personal attack". I also can't find anything un-civil in anything I posted. Since when do you have to grow a 2,000 lb pumpkin to be treated in a civil manner and with a modicum of respect.

Pburdon, unless there is some old wound that has been reopened that I don't know about I don't see anything wrong with anything you've written. Ive read the whole thing over several times and I just can't see what the big problem is. I'm only saying this because if you have offended someone by accident you also have a right to know why exactly so that it doesn't happen again. Especially when the backlash is far more severe than any confusion over the original comment. I know that's how I feel when people react unexpectedly to a comment I have made.

Hi Orangeneck. No old wounds that I am aware of. I've been to Donkin, Nova Scotia many times. I have a cousin who lives there and is a big wig at the coal mine. I've found the local town folk super friendly. Not the easiest place to grow anything.
