Not much going on in my patch this year. Anyone got some grower diaries they would suggest to cheer me up.

I'm getting adjusted to not showing all of my cards. I'm sure others are as well. Anyhow, the fulk patch- obie1 is always worth a look. You won't find any specifics, but their patch is amazing !

No specifics, but I am more of a regional viewer these days so anything Midwest and Southeast U.S since that's what applies to me.

What is wrong. I have the healthiest, fullest plant I have ever had. Have not got a catch on pollination yet. up and down temps. Am running out of room in the patch because it is 25 x 25 feet long. I am already curving the main around so I can get 2 or 3 more chances at a female. Fingers are crossed. If I get one there is lots of leaves ahead of it to feed it.

Phats This year I am thinking that I am so far behind that the goods is - I got a big jump on next year.
Hey it's all for fun isn't it? There are a lot of good diaries, some folks do a really good job keeping us all entertained And jealously sad!

Hey Phat Joe, what time of day do you pollinate ? I used to do it between 6 and 7 and had lots of problems years ago. When I switched to closer to 8 I almost never have one that doesn't take. I also shade the just pollinated fruit with a small structure covered with emergency blanket. That really keeps the temperature even and not too hot or too cold. If all else fails, just give up and let the bees do it, they are way better at getting the job done than us.

With my job 6 a.m pollination is not unusual and it has been very cool at that time. I was on holidays last week and pollinated one at 8:30 a.m. It may be a keeper. 23" 10 dap. Fingers are crossed as it's getting late. Thanks for the input>
