I saw a pic. with Male flowers in a cup of water waiting for pollination day. Will they last a couple of days kept in water prior to pollinating and still work? This is if timing of pollinators is off / males and females.

no they are good for one day. I have heard a few people putting them in the fridge for a day or two, not sure what stage they do that to slow them down.
your plant will naturally start maturing males about a week prior to the first female maturing.
Mother nature has been doing this for eons. There will be males ready when the plant is ready to support a female.
Good Luck
