I am thinking about getting a leaf blower and making my own mister blower.
The 4 cycle sounds good, less hassle keeping the gas fresh, but I always use sta-bil anyway. One time I used a 4 cycle weed eater, it looked poorly maintained but seemed to run ok but the rpm sure seemed low, expected that but it didnt have much power either if this one was normal I would never buy one.

Does anyone have an opinion on the small 4 cycles engines I do not want to use electric, and no cordless either

4 stroke shouldn't require any more fresh fuel than 2 stroke????

It costs more, but with 2 cycles use the premix 50:1 or 40:1 - due to no ethanol. It keeps for 2 years after you open, and will save repairs on carburetors etc from getting gunked up. I run it through my leaf blowers and chainsaws. For a bigger set up, it might be too costly.

Chris I use a lot of regular gas so its fresh if I mix up some 2cycle sometimes it sits around awhile and I may have to keep some 30/1and 50/1 around if I get the blower.

first I ever heard about pre mix $20 a gal ouch..but that would last at least a year I think

I agree with Luke, I run a lot of two cycle equipment, The ethanol gas was especially screwing up my chainsaws. Buying the premixed ethanol free stuff seems expensive, but will actually save you money, because your motors will run like they should. A five gallon can will last a long time.

It would only be used to foliar spray pumpkins,so the gas usage would be pretty low, it would probably use more to start it than run it

Anyone with small engine anything these days...if running but running low rpm or "weak" the spark arrestor is prolly gunked up.. Happens all the time with the shit enthynol gas in my small engines...usually located in the muffler... Looks like a little screen... Pull it out and hit it with a blow torch... It'll clean right up and should solve any running problems...could also cause hard starts... Good luck...

I will probable never see that weed eater again,it wasnt mine and I was just doing someone a favor by trimming their grass, I informed how well generic round-up works so they may have tossed it in the trash.

You can avoid all that by not using the ethanol gas... just costs more, Porkchop. My farmboss hasn't been gunked in years since I switched over to the Husqvarna or Trufuel premix and you don't have to worry about changing out old gas if you go a 2 months without using.

I go through 12 gallons a month... Premix would be expensive

I have a 4 stroke cub cadet weed whacker/ multi tool that I use a hedge trimmer and edger attachment on as well. It is definitely not short on power but it weighs a ton. Not something my wife can ever help me with.

I ordered a husqvarna 2 cycle blower, I had eliminated it down to two choices and went with it because it was 50:1 like my other engines. I am going to use sta-bil ethanol treatment during the busy time of year and maybe the premix for the slow period.

I have used another Marine sta-bil for years in my chainsaw, generator and tiller and havent had any repairs to do

I hear rumors that one of our stations has ethonal free gas, if they do I will use it.

My chief concern of a 4-cycle would be weight. My second concern would be its lack of speed vs. a 2-cycle. Lack of speed = lack of air flow.

The 4 cycle I looked at was about 1.2 pounds heavier than the average 2 cycles
